If you want something more philosophical, try any book by Ken Binmore. If you are looking for a fun easy read, you can try "Who Gets What And Why" by Alvin Roth (game theorist and Nobel laureate). I'm going to stop listing applications, because really there are tons and tons. Some of the most prominent applications are incentive contracts, competition between firms, auctions, school allocation, designing computer systems, elections, interactions between members of a legislature, marriage, sports. Game theory is used in practice to study many social situations. You can also find a lot of good applications of Game Theory in computer science departments. From the 1980s until maybe 2010, applied game theory was one fo the dominant fields of Economics. Economics, and to a lesser extent political science and sociology are the main social fields where game theory is applied. ![]()
